Kindergarten and Year 1 have been learning about Measurement. Their challenge this week was to find out ‘Who had the biggest foot?’

Following our ‘Make, Say, Write Do’ model in maths the students traced around their foot and then selected some materials to measure their foot. Lots of questions arose regarding the accuracy of our measurement choice as well as determining what we were actually measuring – length, perimeter or surface area. A wonderful, engaging lesson that resulted in further investigations.
