Some major works took place this week at St Joseph’s with the sewer line being replaced in the whole front section of the school.  This has been an ongoing issue for some 10 plus years, so replacing some earthen ware sections and replacing the lot means that we shouldn’t have any more issues with tree roots and blocked pipes!

This week the Principal’s award is for being a giving student.  It is timely with our Mission week focus this week as well.  So many students have cleaned out their own piggy banks to give so generously to the missions this week, which is wonderful to see.  It is great to acknowledge those students who are giving with their time to help others, with their spirit – making sure their friends and peers are OK on the playground and just give of themselves to others.

Australia will celebrate and thank the teaching profession on World Teachers Day 2020.
Teachers (with support from parents and carers) have ensured education continues across the country this year, despite major challenges. It’s reinforced the significant role teachers play in the lives of children and students, their families and communities.

I would like to personally thank each staff member of St Joseph’s for their dedication and commitment to their teaching vocation.  2020 in particular has been an extremely challenging year for all teachers around the globe and the way in which St Joseph’s staff overnight changed the format and delivery of learning for students was nothing short of amazing.  I hope the students will get a chance to say a big thank you to their teacher if they get a chance on Friday.
