MISSION MONTH

The children have been excited to bring in their coins to donate to the Missions and are looking forward to wearing their crazy, colourful or odd socks on Friday to ‘Sock it to Poverty’. Thank you for the generosity that has been shown already – it is wonderful for the children to witness Social Justice in action.

The money we raise will be donated to the Arrupe Centre in Cambodia to provide for children with disabilities caused by landmine accidents, polio and other diseases. We will see which class can make the longest line with their coins as well as total their collection.

The children have been particularly touched by Dara’s story and are gaining an understanding of the need to reach out and help others who do not have access to healthcare, education and resources as we do in Australia.

Today 2,3,4, prayed the Mission Rosary for children around the world. Each decade is a different colour to represent a different continent: green for Africa, red for the Americas, blue for Oceania, yellow for Asia and white for Europe.

It was lovely to see how respectfully they participated in the prayer session.
