Principal's Report

Welcome to Week 3!  A big thank you to all our wonderful parents that helped out at last week’s swimming carnival – or came to cheer on and watch the children swim.  It was a great day with only a few showers of rain before the sunshine came.  We were so lucky to get our carnival in before the big rain came in the afternoon.  All of the children have been congratulated for their efforts and I loved how they were happy to go in as many events as they possibly could.  We now have 9 swimmers who are heading off to the Western region carnival in West Wyalong on Monday, and we wish them the best of luck.

Next week is a very busy week at St Joseph’s with something on every day, so please make sure you are checking the calendar.

Our Opening school mass will take place next Thursday 18 February on the school oval where we will officially welcome our Kindergarten students and present our Yr 6 leaders with their badges.  After Mass we will have a morning tea and classroom teachers will present a short information session in their classrooms.  These sessions will have staggered starting times to allow all parents to be able to attend their child’s information session.  This is a great opportunity to find out more about what is happening in your child’s class and an outline of the year ahead.  To stick to covid restrictions we ask that just one parent head into their child’s classroom for the session.  More detailed information is included in the newsletter of the covid procedures that all parents/family members will need to follow on the day.

Next Tuesday we will celebrate Shrove Tuesday.

Due to covid restrictions we will have premade pancakes for the students to enjoy at lunch time.  If your child is not able to eat these, please contact your child’s teacher to make alternative arrangements.

Have a great week.
