Principal's Report
Welcome to Week 5. It was a great day yesterday at St Christopher’s Cathedral in Manuka celebrating 200 years of Catholic Education in Australia. Ainslie, Tom and Charlie were representatives of St Joseph’s and got up very early to travel by bus to Canberra and were joined by Batlow, Tumut and Gundagai. Archbishop Christopher Prowse celebrated the mass and it was wonderful to see so many other students and staff from all over the Archdiocese.
St Joseph’s Adelong is recorded as starting in 1884 by the Sisters of St Joseph (Goulburn) and it is amazing to read about all of the places in our Archdiocese that did have catholic schools and are now unfortunately closed such as Adaminaby, Binalong, Marulan, Nimmitabel, Wallendbeen and Wombat to name a few.
We are very lucky that Catholic Education in our Archdiocese has such a rich and strong history and as the Archbishop stated we are looking forward to what Catholic Education holds for the future.
Have a great week.
