Principal's Report

A huge thank you to all our parents and grandparents who came along on Monday to our Athletics Carnival.  We were so blessed with the beautiful weather and it was such a fantastic day with all children giving their best.   A special mention to those wonderful parents who helped out with time keeping on the day, your help is very much appreciated.  We were also fortunate to have some secondary McAuley students that also assisted on the day and without their help the carnival would not have run so smoothly.  Western Region Athletics will be held in Tumut on Friday 11 June and notes and information will go home this week for those children who have progressed onto the next level.

A special congratulations to Tom Roche who was successful in making the Canberra Goulburn Rugby Union team.   This is a fantastic achievement and there is an article in the newsletter where Tom elaborates on this.

Covid Update

While the COVID-19 outbreak in Victoria continues, CECG encourages all communities to be aware that persons who have recently travelled to Victoria should monitor the Tier 1, 2 and 3 Exposure Sites. With exposure sites now including Goulburn and Gundagai, persons who have attended these sites should follow the NSW health advice including:

  • having a COVID-19 test
  • isolating as appropriate.

They should not attend a School if they have attended an Exposure Site. Close contacts (family members) should monitor their health.

Please continue to check the website

https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectious/covid-19/Pages/case-locations-and-alerts.aspx and get tested if you or a close contact have been to any of these sites or if you are exhibiting any flu like symptoms.

Our school continues to apply the same procedures as advised previously. I advise:

  • Staff and students should be tested if displaying symptoms and only return to school where symptom free and a medical clearance is no longer required
  • Hygiene and first aid requirements remain the same
  • At all times where there are people gathering, personal hygiene, cleaning and record keeping requirements apply
  • We continue to clean high touch points once per day
  • We continue to ensure bathrooms are well stocked with hand soap and paper towels or hand dryers

There have not been any additional restrictions imposed on ACT/NSW Schools at this stage, aside from identified persons isolating and having a COVID-19 test. We will advise if this changes.

We encourage staff and visitors to our school to maintain a 1.5m distance from other people, where practicable and avoid any congestion of groups of visitors in specific areas.  This is no longer a requirement although is recommended.

Have a great week.
