Religious Education News
A very special night for Ainslie and Tom as they celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation with their families tonight.
Confirmation celebrates God’s presence in our lives as the Holy Spirit comes to guide, strengthen, and empower us to witness the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Confirmation completes Baptism, by which in the laying on of hands and the anointing with Chrism Oil, which first happened at Baptism, we are confirmed with the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
During Confirmation, the children will receive the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit: Wisdom, Understanding, Right Judgement, Courage, Knowledge, Reverence (Piety), Wonder and Awe and confirm their commitment to the promises their parents made on their behalf at their Baptism. Confirmation is the final Sacrament of Initiation into the Catholic Church.
We wish Ainslie and Tom a wonderful night as they receive this special Sacrament.
Vinnies Winter Appeal
Don’t forget to dress up in your scarves and beanies next Thursday 24th June as we support the St Vincent de Paul Society in their annual Winter Appeal.
We will be collecting donations of any winter clothing – new or in clean, used condition, blankets or non-perishable food items to give to those in need in our community. All donations will be given to the Tumut branch to distribute.
Students are asked to wear their school uniform as usual and pop on a beanie and / or scarf to support this great cause.
