Principal's Report
Welcome to Term 4. It is wonderful to welcome back our students for the last term of 2021. St Joseph’s is still under Level 3 restrictions as we were at the end of Term 3. This means that students are encouraged to stay in their cohorts, no whole school assemblies or gatherings and parents are still not allowed on site unless it is essential – ie dropping off or collecting your child, or an interview at the request of a teacher.
Our 5/6 students will also have an online ‘speak off’ with Batlow next week in order to see which students will progress to the Western Region Public speaking on Friday 15 October (this is also an online event). Our Year 3 and 4 students – Laura Reynolds, Culley Reynolds and Fred Roche will progress onto the Western Region level as there are no 3/4 students from Batlow who will be participating. We wish Charlie, Ainslie, Arthur and Toby all the best for next week’s speak off.
We welcome Bernadette Cahill into the school for the next six weeks for Tennis on a Friday. The school was successful in gaining a Sports for school grant for this program.
Covid put a stop to the Western Region Athletics carnival as well as the Archdiocesan carnival. This year a virtual Archdiocesan carnival was held, and eligble students could register online to participate, and was done via the results and times of school carnivals.

Our St Joseph’s relay team came 4th in the small schools relay – which was a fantastic effort. Alice came third in the 8 yr old 100 metres and Laura came 6th in the 9 yr old 100 metres. This was out of all the students in the Archdiocese which was a fabulous result. Well done, we are very proud of you all.
Have a great week,
Kirsty Beavan
