Principal's Report
Welcome to Week 4!
Friday is World’s Teachers Day and it is a great opportunity to say thank you to our wonderful St Joseph’s teachers for all that they do for our students. If you or your child have a chance to drop them a line or to just say thank you – I know that it would make their day to know that you appreciate their dedication and commitment to their vocation.
Last Thursday we had a Microsoft Teams meeting with architect Russell McFarland from Austin McFarland Architects and Geoff Whitnall Planning and Facilities Manager from Catholic Education. It was great for parents to see the plans for the new classrooms and administration building as well as see an animation of what the new build will look like.
For those who were not able to attend the online meeting, please click on the link to see the animated video – I hope you will find the video a great snap shot of what St Joseph’s is going to look like in the not too distant future, which is extremely exciting.
Staffing for 2022 is well under way and we recently advertised for the Religious Education Co-ordinator position. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Liz Murray for her dedication and commitment to her role as REC over the last two years. Leading the staff through Conceptual Inquiry, knowledge of the new Brisbane Religious Education Curriculum, preparing students for the Parish based sacramental programs are just some of the successes that Mrs Murray has achieved in her time as REC. Please see correspondence from Catholic Education with the announcement of Miss Stacey Braun as the new Religious Education Co-ordinator at St Joseph’s. Staff are looking forward to working closely with Miss Braun in her new role and I would like to congratulate her on her new position.
