Thank you to our Year 6 Leaders for presenting Liturgy to the school on All Souls’ Day. All Souls’ Day is a solemn day of remembrance of our family members, friends and loved ones who have passed away. We also pray for those souls in purgatory and those souls who may have no-one to pray for them. During the month of November we continue to ask God to grant them eternal rest.
During the Liturgy the children placed their hearts in the prayer space to remember those family members and friends who have passed. The students participated with great reverence and respect.

In Religion lessons, Years 2 and 3 have been investigating the concept of ‘Images’. This week they have been looking at how God is portrayed in the Old Testament. They have been using the bibles that the Community Council purchased to locate a variety of verses from the books of Genesis, Isaiah and Psalms that portray God as the Creator, Potter, Shepherd and his strength and power through the actions of wind and fire.

This week the children enjoyed creating a collage to represent God as Creator. They read about creation and studied the verse ‘God looked at everything he had made, and he was pleased.’ (Genesis 1:31). The children used natural materials to represent God’s marvellous creations.
