One of the many benefits of multi-stage classes is peer learning. The 4/5/6 class are regularly participating in peer learning experiences, for instance exploring the concept of fairness in Religion or learning new vocabulary in Literacy. Sometimes students can choose their own groups, sometimes they are chosen randomly and other times Mrs Dean will choose the groups. In all situations, the students are also working on their cooperation and teamwork skills.

The 4/5/6 class are thoroughly enjoying their tennis lessons with Birdie. Mrs Dean is extremely proud of their behaviour as they are showing great sportsmanship by always being respectful to Birdie and each other, encouraging each other, listening to the feedback they are given and trying their best.

Yr 4/5/6 have been doing some amazing artworks recently. Throughout the year they have been learning about different elements of art, and recently they learnt about space and the techniques artists use to make their artworks look three-dimensional through the size and placement of objects.

In Science, we have begun learning about natural disasters so they have also recreated Hokusai’s famous artwork, The Great Wave.
