Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

As week two draws to a close, I’d like to thank families for their support on a number of fronts. Firstly, in relation to our Covid guidelines, continuing to practise Covid safe measures, keeping kids home if they are unwell and RAT testing when necessary. All of the little extras that are being done to ensure we are looking after each other in our school community is appreciated.

Working Bee

Thank you to our families that contributed to the Working Bee on Saturday. The gardens are looking great and the students are enjoying the freshly spread softfall and sand during play. This community support and engagement is greatly appreciated and doesn’t happen without the organisation and support from our Community Council.

Street Stall

Congratulations to our Year 6 leaders for their participation in last Friday’s Street Stall. It was wonderful to see their engagement with local community members, along with their entrepreneurial skills on show! Thank you to all families that helped at the stall and donated cakes, slices and other goods for the raffle and sales. The food certainly got the tick of approval from my two boys at home!

Winter Bites

St Joseph’s Community Council has the opportunity to assist with catering at the upcoming Winter Bites in Batlow, Saturday August 27th. We are aiming to keep this very simple, pre-cooking meat and serving meat and gravy rolls with coleslaw. Before committing to this event, we are needing to gauge the level of support for this.

If you could respond ASAP so the Community Council can make a decision, would be greatly appreciated. Those that help on the day will receive free entry into the festival.

The Winter Bites Link (attached) directs parents to a simple Google Form that will inform the Community Council of the support parents can provide.

On a side note, it has been wonderful to venture into classrooms throughout the week and witness the wonderful connection our students have with all of our staff, to see students positively engaged in their learning and making a concerted effort to engage with our Five Ways of Being program that we will refer to regularly throughout the term.

I hope all families have also enjoyed a positive start to the term.

Enjoy the remainder of the week,

Ryan Forsyth

Acting Principal
