Principal's Report
Dear Parents and Carers,
Archdiocesan Athletics
On Tuesday Alice, Nate and Kruz travelled to Canberra to participate in the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Athletics Carnival. All three performed extremely well in their events, with both Nate and Kruz making it away to Sydney for the Mackillop carnival. Further to these outstanding results, we will also have Toby, Nate, Laura and Sam participating in the small school relay team. Congratulations!

Father’s Day Barbeque
With Father’s Day just around the corner, we would like to invite all Dads, Grandads and men that play a special role in the lives of students at St Joseph’s for breakfast next Friday 2nd September. We will be offering bacon and egg rolls near the tennis courts, from 7.30am onwards. If you are interested in coming in and sharing brekky with the kids, you are most welcome. This can simply be a pick-up and go or hang around for a chat and a shot of the basketball leading into the start of lessons.
Book Week Parade
It was wonderful to have our preschoolers and families on site as part of our Book Week Parade on Wednesday. Our students thoroughly enjoyed the experience of showing off their outfits and sharing their learning space with the preschoolers. There was clearly a lot of time and effort that went into costumes and this, along with a vocal audience helped make the parade an enjoyable one! If anyone would still like to purchase a book from our Bookstall in the office, tomorrow morning before school will be your final opportunity.

Public Speaking Competition
Congratulations to all of our Year 2 - 6 students who participated in our public speaking competition last week. There was a lot of time and effort that went into preparing for these speeches and this was reflected in their delivery in front of the classes. Well done to Toby, Arthur, Fred, Culley, Taylor, Laura, Alice and Braxton who have been selected to travel to Batlow for the next phase of this competition on Tuesday.
Nurturing your Child through Transition
As 2023 enrollment is underway, we are drawn to think about transitions for our students. Transitions can be hard for our students and for parents, as they navigate the anxiety that can sometimes happen with change. A fantastic resource to support families with this is the CSPA "Gearing up for Parent Engagement in Student Learning.” This resource provides a parent module on Nurturing your child through transition – Primary and Nurturing your child through transition - Secondary , providing some concrete and practical advice for families and the school community.
