Principal's Report
Dear Parents and Carers,
R U OK Day
A huge thank you to Mrs Clay for her coordination of R U OK Day. Our students participated in activities that highlighted the importance of kindness, empathy and looking out for each other. They ate together with students in different year groups and were also lucky enough to sample Mrs Clay and Mrs Murray’s baking! I feel that empathy and care for one another can often be the strength of a small community, however, it never hurts to continually highlight the importance we place on wellbeing and practice our ability to check in on each other. If there is anything the school can do to support the wellbeing of students and families, we are always happy to do our best to support the people within our community.
Staff Development Day
Our first day of Term Four (Monday 10th October) will be a Staff Development Day. The first day for students will be Tuesday 11th October. We appreciate the support from families that allows our staff to continually develop their practice to best support our students.
Kinder Orientation
Next Tuesday, we are really excited to be having our first Kinder Orientation Day. This is not only for students that have already enrolled for 2023 but also for prospective students/families.
eSafety News
As mentioned in last week’s newsletter, I am going to provide parents with some information about devices, online apps and platforms that will hopefully support decision making at home. Some of these tips/recommendations may not be as relevant to a particular year group. Furthermore, some of this will include information on social media. I certainly don’t want this to be seen as encouraging the use of social media in young children (most social media requires users to be 13+ or even 18+) but more so to assist parents to make informed decisions with technology and social media. Please see the attached link for regarding Safe on Social: Top Safety Tips for Snapchat * Kirra Pendergast is the CEO of Safe on Social MediaTM Pty Ltd.
Enjoy the remainder of the week,
Ryan Forsyth
