R U OK? is a charity with a mission to get everyone having more conversations to check in with each other to see how they’re doing.

It’s about what we can all do to help our friends, classmates and family to get through tough times.

You don’t have to specifically say “Are you OK?” – ask in whatever way feels right for you.

You could say something like:

  • “How are you travelling?”
  • “You don’t seem yourself lately – want to talk about it?“
  • “You seem a bit sad lately, are you OK?”
  • “What’s going on?”

Listening is the thing that can make the biggest difference for someone who needs help. It can be tempting to rush or change the subject. It can also be hard to hear that one of your friends is sad or is struggling – but remind yourself that by listening, you are making a difference.

Sacrament Holy Communion - St James Church Adelong

The sacrament of Holy Communion will be offered on Sunday 6th November to students in Year 3.  Please let me know your child would like to make this sacrament.

8th September - Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Catholic Church celebrates today the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Church looks on her as the Mother of God, but even more so as the disciple who can best offer us an example and model of the Christian life.

Did you know?

Mary’s parents were St. Joachim and St. Anne. Joachim and Ann loved God very much, and they were filled with gratitude to God for the gift of a child. They raised Mary as a child of God, teaching her to love and serve God. When the angel Gabriel told Mary that she had been chosen to be the Mother of Jesus, she already had great faith in God. Her strong faith and trust allowed her to say yes to God’s plan for her.
