First Holy Communion
Please keep Ollie, James, Primrose, Henry and Billy in your prayers as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion on Sunday 6th November at St James’ Church. It would be lovely to see our School Community attend and celebrate this special day.
Thank you to Fr Namora for coming to our preparation lesson yesterday to meet the children.
Mission Month
This October, we are celebrating World Mission Month, a month dedicated to the life-giving work of missionaries around the world. This year, we walk hand-in-hand with the Church of Ethiopia and the local communities towards providing life-changing opportunities to those most in need.
St Joseph’s is participating in Socktober for Mission Month, because there are children in Ethiopia who need our support to access nutritious food, education and healthcare. Students are invited to wear crazy socks (normal school uniform) on Friday 28th October. The school will donate money on behalf of the students.
All Souls Day
On Tuesday 1st November we celebrate All Saints’ Day. This day is marked in the Catholic liturgical calendar, as a day to remember and honour all the Saints, especially the Saints who are not honoured on other days of the year. It is a time to consider the example saints offer us today and to reflect on how we can imitate their holiness.
All Souls’ Day follows All Saints’ Day on November 2nd. All Soul’s Day is a solemn time when we remember, pray and offer Mass for the souls of our family members and friends that have passed away.
