Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

Mrs Beavan’s return

It is very exciting to announce that Mrs Beavan will be returning to her role as Principal at St Joseph’s this Monday. She has maintained a keen interest in all things at school over the past year and is very excited to be back learning with our community. This also means that I will be heading to Cootamundra on a full time basis. Thank you again for the amazing welcome and opportunity to be a part of the wonderful community at St Joseph’s.

Swimming Carnival

Congratulations to all of our students who participated at last week's swimming carnival at the Adelong Pool. Notes have gone home and  information sent out via Compass regarding  the Western Region Swimming Carnival next Thursday 23rd February. Our swim team will get to wear our new swimming caps purchased over the break. Students are to hold onto their caps to use in the following years that they participate at this carnival.

Uniform

There have been several posts in the newsletter and via Compass regarding school uniforms, however, I see it important to ensure that families are aware of our uniform policy and this has been attached in this week’s newsletter. Please refer to this (including information about hair, nail polish and jewellery - for boys and girls) when purchasing a uniform. As mentioned in last week’s newsletter, parents can use the Premier’s back to school vouchers to assist paying for these items.

Mowing Roster

I would like to thank families for their contribution to ensuring our school is looking tidy and that our students have a playground that they can enjoy. Please find below, some information regarding the mowing roster to further support the handover/information about these duties to ensure that our grounds are mowed:

  • families check the mowing roster posted each week in the newsletter.
  • once finished please contact the next family on the roster or contact the office to let them know.
  • check around the rockeries and garden beds for whipper snipping.
  • re-fill the mower with fuel and advise the school if more fuel is needed.
  • instructions on how to use the mower are in the shed.
  • contact the school to find out how to unlock the shed.

We do ask that once it is your turn that you endeavour to get the mowing done sooner rather than later to ensure our school grounds are well maintained and safe for our children to enjoy.

Have a great week!

Ryan Forsyth

Acting Principal
