Religious Education News
I would like to thank Mr Forsyth for his leadership, guidance and support during your time at St Joseph’s. We appreciate all the hard work you have done in Kirsty’s absence. Your enthusiasm and positivity has been felt throughout our whole school community. We wish you the best of luck as you begin your next chapter in Cootamundra.
We wish Mrs Beavan all the best for her return on Monday, we look forward to seeing her back.
Opening Mass
On Tuesday, we celebrated our Opening Mass. Thank you to Fr Joe for leading us in Mass. It was a lovely celebration and all the students read beautifully and were very reverent. I have heard lots of positive comments! Thank you to all the families who were in attendance.
Lent
Next week we mark the beginning of Lent with Ash Wednesday. For Catholics this is a time for self-reflection and deeper engagement in prayer. It can also be a time of fasting, abstinence or acts of generosity. This helps to focus on the ultimate sacrifice, the death of Jesus and the new life offered through the Resurrection.
Next week for Shrove Tuesday, students will enjoy premade pancakes at lunch time. If your child is not able to eat these, please contact me to make alternative arrangements.
Our school will celebrate Ash Wednesday with a liturgy at 10:30am in St James’ Church. Parents, carers or parishioners are more than welcome to attend.
