St Joseph’s has been a hive of activity over the last two weeks.  A big thank you to Mrs Murray for organising the book week activities in Week 6.  A lot of preparation went into the Parade, Book Fair, activities for the preschoolers, displays in the library and entrance to the classrooms that focused on this year’s theme Read, Grow, Inspire.  All of the children enjoyed dressing up for Book Week as well as the guessing competition of the teacher’s childhood photos and favourite books.

It is fantastic to get to know the 2024 Kindergarten students a little better over the last couple of weeks with enrolment interviews.  We have had our Information night, if any families that couldn’t make it would like copies of the handouts please let the office know.  We look forward to our first Kindergarten Orientation day next Tuesday 12^th September at 9 am.  If the children could bring their bags, a drink bottle, a piece of fruit and their hats they will be all set for a great morning at St Joseph’s.

It was Teacher Support week last week, and St Joseph’s staff had a morning tea to thank our wonderful Classroom Support Assistants for all that they do.  Mrs Turnbull, Mrs Howell, Mrs Matthews and Mrs Murphy always go above and beyond and we really appreciate all that you do for our school and wonderful students.

Another thank you for to all of the dads who joined us last Friday for our Father’s day sports afternoon.  From all accounts it was a great afternoon and the children loved having their dads at school for the afternoon.

It was a special day for our six students who celebrated the sacrament of Reconciliation today – Bonnie, Christopher, Barney, Eva, Reuben and Brydee.  Thank you to Fr Joe, Miss Braun and to the parents for your support and preparation of the students.  The children were very excited and it was lovely to see the children so committed to their faith journey.
