Principal's Report
Dear Parents,
It is indeed a busy time of the year as school for 2023 comes to a close. Thank you to all our families and friends who came to our End of Year Mass and awards presentation. It was fantastic to acknowledge our wonderful Yr 6 students who are finishing their education at St Joseph’s and also to celebrate the achievements of our student’s, especially those who received an award.
As you would be aware School Reports are available on the Compass Parent Portal, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher if you would like to make a parent/teacher interview.
On Wednesday evening after our wonderful performance of “Cheer up Santa” we will bid a sad farewell to Mrs Murray who has decided to finish up at St Joseph’s at the end of the year, as well as Mrs Parker who continues her journey to a full recovery. We thank both of these wonderful teachers for their hard work and dedication to our small school over the many years that they have been with us. Both teachers have had many varied and important roles over their time at St Josephs and St Joseph’s will be very different without them both. We wish them all the very best for their future endeavours.
A teaching position as well as a Classroom support assistant position have been advertised for St Joseph’s in 2024. Due to this we are not able to communicate the class structure or what classes teachers will be teaching at this point in time. Parents will be notified when staffing has been finalised which will be sometime in the new year.
In today’s newsletter class requirements are also included for 2024.
Staff and students are looking forward to our end of year rewards day in Junee on Friday. Please pack lots of sunscreen and water for what will be another warm day!
Many dates have been booked for next year which have again been flagged on the St Joseph’s calendar. One of the big changes that will take place next year is that there will be two pupil free days a term. This is in light of changes made to the Enterprise agreement for teachers and industrially being able to give teachers the required time for Release from face to face teaching. The first two days of Term 1, Tuesday 30th January and Wednesday 31st January 2024 will be Pupil Free days with all students returning on Thursday 1st February 2024.
I will take this opportunity to thank you again for being part of the St Joseph’s school community, and wish all of our families the blessings of Christmas.
Kind regards
Kirsty Beavan
