Principal's Report
A big thank you to all of the students that presented Mass on the weekend – it is always lovely to see the children participate and to Miss Braun who prepared the liturgy. Special mention to Sarah Roche who very generously made a chocolate cake for everyone to share.
The Adelong Show is coming up this weekend – many hands make light work, if you haven’t had the chance to pop your name on the bbq roster – we would appreciate even 1 hour of your time. A HUGE thank you to those that have put their names down, we really appreciate your support.
I will head to the Southern Highlands today for the Catholic Leaders Day and Principals retreat with all Principals from the Canberra Goulburn Diocese for the remainder of the week. Please contact Miss Stacey Braun in my absence if you have any pressing issues.
Pick up at the end of the day
Last year we had workers from Snowy Valleys Council come out to observe Gundagai Street at the end of the day around pick up time. It does get congested at that time of the day so it is important that parents continue to get out of their cars and come to get their children from the school gate. We are waiting for the matter to be taken to the Traffic committee. One suggestion was made (it is not always possible) to try and only park on the side of the road closest to the school, in order to leave enough space for cars to pass by on both sides of the road. It can sometimes be a little chaotic with lots of children leaving the school at the same. Please make sure that you supervise your children and siblings at all times to ensure that they are not near the road and you can see them at all times.
Parental controls
On many of the children’s devices when initially set up, parents put their own emails and parental control on the device. This is proving to be troublesome when the children need to access documents such as google docs with their student email as often devices will only link to one email address. It is also tricky to put things on devices such as the NAPLAN lockdown browser as you need permission to download apps. If there is any way that these parental controls can be removed it would be ideal or if the children are aware of codes to get access to their device that would be ideal.
Head lice
Please be aware that there has been a case of head lice. If you find lice in your child’s hair, please make sure that the hair is treated before returning to school.
Blessings for a great week,
