Kindergarten Class News
Our wonderful Kindergarten class have had a super busy start to the year.
In Literacy, students have learnt their first cluster of sounds, /m/, /s/, /t/ and /a/. With every new sound we meet a new character. This helps children to remember the sound and letter names. Be sure to ask your child about Maggie Mouse, Tommy Tiger, Sammy Seal and Andy Ant to hear more about what they have been learning in class!
We took our Maths lesson outside last week and went on an Easter egg hunt! We hid our Unifix blocks around the playground and then had to collect as many as we could find. Once we collected our "eggs" we categorised our blocks into groups of colour.
We then recorded our findings and compared these with our peers.
During History we are learning about Our Personal & Family History. We have learnt about our peers and their families, looked at baby photos of ourselves and compared how we have changed in the past compared to the present. We have also predicted how we might change and grow in the future.
During week 7 we had a visit from the Wagga Road & Safety Police Officers. Dan and Ty visited our Kindergarten class to share important information on how to keep safe when catching a school bus. We learnt that we need to stay 4 metres away from a bus when it's pulling up to pick us up. We also learnt that we should not use devices such as laptops, when on the bus, to make sure we have our parents contacts inside our school bags and stranger danger.
As we head into the final weeks of Term 1, we wish everyone a safe and happy school break and look forward to seeing everyone back at school for Term 2.
