3/4 Class News
Rocket Math is a learning program that teaches the students addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions. Year 3 students are working their way through the addition levels and Year 4 are on the multiplication level. Rocket Math is designed to improve fluency and students are motivated by seeing their own learning and success. Students have 1 minute to answer as many questions as they can. Each day they try to beat their goal and progress onto the next level.
This week in 3/4, Panav is our Rocket Champion with answering 42 multiplication questions in 60 seconds! Well done to Brydee who beat her goal in just one day!

Religion
Yesterday in Religion, students unpacked the significance of Pentecost. Students discovered the colour 'red' represents the flames of fire that appeared above the heads of the disciples when they received the Holy Spirit. So when people wear red on Pentecost (like Fr Joe on Sunday) it's a way to remember and celebrate the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. In Art, students created a mobile craft to represent the flame, dove and Holy Spirit.

Science
Last week Yr 3-4 made milk into plastic in Science. We learned about what plastic is made of and also looked at different types of plastics.
We did an experiment where we had to warm up a cup of milk and then add 3 to 4 tablespoons of white vinegar and then mould a shape and add some food colouring. We are looking forward to science this week to look at the end result.
