Principal's Report
As Term 1 draws to a close, it is great to take a moment to reflect on the many achievements and great events we've shared this term. It has been a wonderful start to the school year, and I am incredibly proud of all our students for their enthusiasm, hard work, and positive attitudes. It has been an extremely busy term with many special events such as our Opening School Mass, Swimming carnival, Cross Country carnival and the Adelong Show. Our students have had many opportunities to represent the school in extra curricular activities such as the Rugby Gala Day, Soccer Gala Day, Netball Gala Day, Netball and Rugby League trials for Canberra Goulburn. Excursions to the Adelong ruins- Adelong Falls, Habitat Day at the Adelong Creek, Library excursion for K12 and a visit from the Light horseman to name a few.
Congratulations to all students who have worked hard for the duration of the term and received Student of the Week awards and Principal awards at our weekly morning assemblies.
Term 2 promises to be another exciting term. We are looking forward to hosting the Western Region Cross Country in the first week of Term with St Mary’s Batlow. Thank you to the parents who have put their names down on the roster for the Cross Country, all help is greatly appreciated. Our 5/6 students are also looking forward to participating in the Young Rural Leaders Program which will see them visit Taronga Western Plains Zoo to continue their great learning about platypus and their habitat.
The most exciting part of returning after the holiday break will be that we will be in our new building for the commencement of Term 2. Students in their classes have been given a tour of the new classrooms and administration building this week and their reactions to their new learning environments has been priceless. We can’t wait to utilise our state of the art of facilities and no words can describe how thrilled we are with our new school. McFarland Architects have designed functional and modern buildings that blend in seamlessly with our current buildings. Cross Build have been a dream to deal with and the workmanship and attention to detail we cannot fault. The facilities team at Catholic Education have made this project happen and again the St Joseph’s community is so very grateful for our new build.
We encourage all families to keep an eye on the school calendar and Compass for upcoming dates and events.
School will finish on Thursday 10th April and Term 2 will begin for students on Tuesday 29th April.
We wish all families a safe and restful break. Thank you for your continued support and for being such a valued part of our school community.
Blessings for the Easter season,
Kirsty Beavan
