Year 5/6 Habitat Day Excursion
Our 5/6 students, on Tuesday 1st April, headed down to Rimmers Bridge to participate in Habitat day. This experience was the first day in the Future Rural Leaders Program a fabulous FREE initiative that is being facilitated by Riverina Local Land Services.
The students learnt about Platypus conservation and other rare species in the Adelong Creek.
Cherie White – Refreshing Rivers Project Officer – Riverina Local Lands Services and Kelly Pfeiffer – Zoo Education Officer Taronga Western Plans Zoo Dubbo ran the students through some great activities. They did a Biodiversity Eco System Challenge, learnt about what lives in the creek, played human Impact Jenga and participated in a Catchment Story where they became aware of all of the things that end up in our creek.
We can’t wait for the next educational experience which is the Zoo Snooze – 3 day/2 night stay at Taronga Western Plains Zoo.
