5/6 Class News
5/6 have had a busy end to Term 2. We have been working hard in all learning areas and have produced some wonderful work.
In Maths, we wrapped up our Term 2 content by completing the end of term test. Everyone worked really hard to demonstrate their learning and we had some fabulous results.
In Geography/Science, we have been learning about sustainability in the Great Barrier Reef, which has tied in nicely with Project Platypus as the focus has been on what can be done to improve the outcomes for endangered animals and environmental landscapes that are devastatingly being ruined over time. As a end of term project, students researched a fish living in the Great Barrier Reef and created a placemat full of information, data, jokes and games all related to the sustainability of their chosen fish.
In Religion, 5/6 have been studying The Beatitudes. They have broken the scripture apart, attempted to make understanding of what its telling us, researched its meaning and then applied it to their daily lives.
We are also in the process of presenting public speaking speeches this week. The teachers have been so impressed by their speeches and the way they have been presented. 5/6 should be very proud of all their hard work this term.
