Principal's Report

There has been a lot of sickness at St Joseph’s over the past week and illness struck over half of our students and families as well as staff.  Please ensure that your child/ren are only at school if they are feeling well.  Coming to school unwell spreads germs and illness very quickly – so let’s keep everyone as healthy as we can!

Last week St Joseph’s hosted the Western Region Principals for our term three meeting.  The Principals were very impressed with our new facilities and thoroughly enjoyed their time in Adelong.

Last week was a busy week at St Joseph’s as we celebrated our Dad’s, Grandads and special father figures in our students lives.  We all enjoyed a sausage sizzle for lunch and then hit the bowling green and tennis court for a fun afternoon in the sun with our special visitors.  A huge thank you to David Wren and his band of helpers who not only let us use the Adelong bowling greens but gave the students many tips on the day.  It was great that our students in Yrs 3 – 6 who have been participating in lawn bowls for sport this term got to put their skills to use!

Thank you to all our dads, grandads, uncles and friends who came to enjoy a great afternoon with us.  A big thank you to Miss Braun who organised a very successful afternoon.

This week we are incredibly fortunate that we have a team of Allied Health Clinicians from Royal Far West spending the week at our school.  Staff will have many professional learning opportunities as well as parents to attend a workshop or to come in to meet with the team and speak with them individually.  I encourage all families to utilise the team whilst they are here – we know that accessing allied health professionals in our region can be difficult. Supervision will be provided on Wednesday afternoon for the Parent workshop “Understanding and responding to children’s BIG feelings”

We look forward to welcoming our 2026 Kindergarten students next week for their first Orientation session.  Enrolment forms are now due and we would love to welcome any families to our beautiful school for 2026.

Blessings for a great week,

Kirsty Beavan
