Principal's Report

Welcome to Week 3.  We look forward to our Opening School Mass this evening where we will present our leaders with their badges, officially welcome our Kindergarten students and celebrate the beginning of the 2020 school year.  It will be great to catch up with you after mass for a bbq and a chat!

It has been a busy week this week with lots of things happening.  A big thank you to all those parents who came and watched our fantastic swimmers last Thursday at our swimming carnival, and a special shout out to all those who lent a hand and were time keepers, recorders and starters, your help is always very much appreciated.  Monday 17th February is the Western Region Swimming carnival to be held at Harden and we wish all of our students the best of luck.  Mrs Dean will be the supervising teacher at the Harden carnival.

Yesterday I was at McAuley for a meeting with all the Principals in our small district.  The TBAG Principals – which represents the cluster of Tumut, Batlow, Adelong and Gundagai are endeavouring to work more closely to enable staff to network and share resources, to gain Professional Development together and share the knowledge and expertise between the schools.  It was a productive meeting and I am looking forward to the four schools working more closely together.

Today your child is going home with a note regarding fee reduction for 2020 for families that have been directly impacted by the bushfires.  Please contact me if you would like to access this very generous offer from Catholic Education.

The Catholic Voice newspaper has also been out in our region over the last two days.  St Joseph’s will featured heavily in the March edition and there are a few pics on the Catholic Voice facebook page.

Have a great week,

Kind Regards,

Kirsty Beavan
