Community Council News

Community Council needs ONE more person!

The meeting to appoint the Community Council Executive for 2020/2021 was held on Wed 26. We would like to congratulate Jenna Roots on her appointment to the Community Council and her willingness to take on the role of Chairperson. Congratulations Jenna! Frank Corbett and Lauren Roche have returned as executive members and Frank has stayed in the position of Deputy Chair, whilst Lauren has moved to Secretary. The remainder of the Community Council is made up of Kirsty Beavan, as Principal; Stacy Braun as teacher’s representative and Julian Roche as the Parish representative. Tammy McMahon and Krystal Miller did not nominate for the council again and we thank them for their efforts in supporting the council over the last few years.

As the head line says, we do need at least one more person for the community council. If you are able to join the executive, please email Jenna at sjachairperson@gmail.com. The new person would be elected to the executive and would be asked to either fill the position of Treasurer or Secretary depending on their preference. Being part of the community council and shaping the future direction of our school is a rewarding experience and one that you won’t regret.

The next community council meeting has been set for April 1st at 6pm.

All Together Adelong Festival

St Joseph's has been asked to participate in the All Together Adelong Festival, to be held on March 22. In the meeting last Wednesday it was agreed that given the tough year many of our families are having, we will keep our fundraising endeavours to a minimum this year, but on the same token, this is an important community event and I think we can all agree that we would like to support it. Most of the normal food selling ideas have been covered already by other groups, so we have come up with the idea of selling pre-packaged Super Salads. We will need helpers to prep the salads on the Saturday and then we will be asking families to slot into the stall for an hour to sell the salads, it will be very easy on Sunday, no food handling, so as long as we have one adult in the stall at all times, kids are welcome to help.

If you could let us know what you can do by emailing the school.
