Principal's Report
Welcome to Week 8 in what seems like crazy times indeed. Thank you to all parents who have been in contact if your child/ren are unwell and keeping them at home. Regardless of Covid-19 it is sensible and best practice to keep children at home when they are not well, in order to ensure the health and safety of the whole school community. Not getting caught up in the hysteria and crazy behaviours which seem to be around us, can only have positive flow on effects. There is constant communication from Catholic Education and I have distributed this information to all families, and will continue to do so.
The latest advice from government authorities is that schools should remain open and it is learning as usual. Taking away all of the sporting competitions, trials and carnivals as well as any additional events that would normally happen in schools in some ways is quite refreshing as it is purely teaching and learning happening in schools across our nation – which is our core business.
Schools in the Archdiocese are preparing for the event that there may be school closures. Worst case scenarios are if schools were to close – teaching and learning would still occur through remote learning and St Joseph’s would be well set up to do this.
We acknowledge that today is St Joseph’s day and we thank Mrs Murray for preparing some great resources for the children to use today in class. Our patron Saint has many qualities that I constantly see children aspiring to such as using our hands to do good, guiding others and being kind and compassionate.
Have a great week,
Kind Regards,
Kirsty Beavan
