This Sunday we celebrate Pentecost Sunday.

It commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles, Mary and other followers of Jesus who were gathered for the Jewish holiday – Shavu’ot.

The Holy Spirit, appearing as a strong wind and tongues of fire, gave the Apostles gifts to go out and preach the Gospel to all Nations. The apostles and the believers, were for the first time, united by a common language as the apostles were able to speak in different languages so that they could understand each other.

The Rosary

This week it has been wonderful to pray the Rosary in each classroom. The children have discussed the purpose of the Rosary, the Mysteries of the Rosary and prayed for special intentions as we have prayed the Rosary together. The children were reverent during the prayer time and asked many questions – some that we need to go and investigate further!
