Religious Education News
As we come to the end of term it is wonderful to reflect and give thanks for the many learning opportunities, we have experienced at St Joseph’s, as well as the friendships we enjoy. We are truly blessed to be part of such a supportive learning community.
Years 2,3,4 invited me to join them in their Religion class this week. They have been learning about the different types of Prayer this term and were going outdoors to pray. The class set up a Prayer space using a prayer mat that they created as part of their unit. Each child was invited to pray for their own intentions, either silently or aloud, as they held a wooden palm cross.

It was so moving to observe the respect and devotion the students demonstrated. The children’s prayers were heartfelt as they asked God to care for their parents, siblings, grandparents and deceased family members and friends. Others said prayers of gratitude for healthcare workers, their teachers and to God for keeping their families safe during the Coronavirus pandemic.
The students are creating a class prayer book filled with the many prayers they have written and published this term.
A big thank you to Mrs Turnbull who generously offered to sew the Prayer squares together for the class.
Enjoy the holidays.
