Catalyst
On Monday staff participated in a day of Professional Learning with the Catalyst Team from Catholic Education.Staff completed a range of Professional Reading before the day to ensure that all staff had an understanding of the research behind the practices that were being introduced through the sessions during the day.
Topics Covered:
- The connections between High Impact Teaching Practices and the Science of Learning evidence.
- How the brain processes information.
- Cognitive Load Theory
- The importance of starting lessons with a Daily Review – which leads to consolidation and automaticity of knowledge, skills and strategies.
Over the next few week staff will develop their own Daily Reviews and present them to Catalyst Team for Feedback. We look forward to working with our Coach – Michael, and hopefully have him visit the school to see our lessons first hand.
Western Region Swimming Carnival

Opening School Mass
Our Opening School Mass will take place Tuesday 22 February (Week 4) at 9:30am on the school oval where we will officially welcome our Kindergarten students and present our Yr 6 leaders with their badges.
Unfortunately due to Covid-19 restrictions, only Yr 6 Parents will be allowed to attend - if they are double vaccinated and will be seated socially distanced. I am extremely sorry not all parents can attend, but I know you understand we are guided by the current advice from Catholic Education, NSW Government and NSW Health. Please bring your own chair.
This week students made a gratitude tree with all the wonderful things they were grateful for. It is important to teach students that gratitude is an attitude towards life that makes us more resilient and improves our well being. Some of the things on our gratitude tree are: family, friends, having food, teachers and school.
What are you grateful for today?
Scan the QR code to watch the video of Toby, Culley and Laura sharing what they are grateful for.
