Dear Parents and Carers,
End of Year Mass
I would like to thank Miss Braun for the enormous amount of work that went into the preparation of yesterday's Mass. Not only was the Adelong Showground Pavilion brilliantly transformed into ‘our church’ for the day, but the Mass itself was a wonderful celebration of our Catholic school community and acknowledgement of our departing students. Thank you Miss Braun! Along with Miss Braun’s efforts, was that of our Year Six students, Maureen Hayes and Ash Annetts who cleaned, decorated and assisted Miss Braun in these preparations.
Award Winners and 2023 School Leaders
Congratulations to all of our end of year award recipients. As mentioned yesterday, I am extremely proud of our Year Five students for the manner they delivered their speeches in Week 8, along with their positive response to each other's success yesterday. You are going to be a great team in 2023.
Please see below the leadership roles of our 2023 Year Six students:
School Captains: Culley Reynolds and Sam Robson
Sports Leaders: Fred Roche and Lochie Roots
Media Leader: Nicholas Campbell

Farewell
I would like to once again share my gratitude for the manner I have been welcomed into the Adelong community. I have very fond memories that I take with me. I wish our families a Merry Christmas, and a restful, safe and enjoyable time with family and friends.
O Glorious St. Christopher you have inherited a beautiful name, Christ-bearer, as a result of the wonderful legend that while carrying people across a raging stream you also carried the Child Jesus. Teach us to be true Christ-bearers to those who do not know Him. Protect all of us that travel both near and far and petition Jesus to be with us always. Amen.
Enjoy the break,
Ryan Forsyth
Acting Principal
Thank you to all students and families for your support, especially the fundraising events that focused on developing the children’s understanding of Mission and Justice. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas break and wish you all the blessings of the Festive Season.

St Joseph's will be going to the pool tomorrow even with the weather being cooler.
Students will have the opportunity to swim if they would like, however we will have games outside of the pool happening if the water is the water is too cool.
We will go down to the pool in the morning once the students have arrived. Students will have a sausage sizzle lunch before returning to school.
Please ensure you have approved permission on Compass and send in $7 per student for the fun water activiites and lunch.
Students who will be in Yrs 2-6 in 2023 will require their own device.
The requirements that the school suggests are that the device has a good battery life, wireless wi-fi and the preference would be for a laptop or chrome book rather than a tablet. Somewhere in the middle price range – not cheap and nasty but not top of the line as there really is not a need to spend a lot of money. Windows 10 S machines can be troublesome, however it is suggested that Google chrome is the browser for your device.
If purchasing a device for your child is going to place financial pressure on the family, we ask that you contact Mr Forsyth to discuss. There will be chrome books available for students to use until such time a laptop can be purchased. Please let me know if you have any queries about this, happy to help out.
School uniforms are available through Wendellie on Wynyard in Tumut. If you would like to place an order for uniforms in 2023 orders need to be placed as soon as possible. Orders can be phoned through on 6947 6500 or by email orderswendellie@gmail.com.
The Community Council would like to thank all of the families who have contributed to our fundraising events during the year.
Your support and involvement is greatly appreciated and all of your efforts are so valuable in supporting our wonderful school.
Thank you!
