We continue to keep the Hardwick family in our prayers and thoughts at this devastatingly sad time. I know that the wonderful Adelong community has been very supportive of the family and all those who knew and loved Liam. Please give your children an extra cuddle and kiss tonight, we are so blessed to be parents.
Staff continue their Professional Development this week with a twilight session presented by Catholic Educations Speech pathologist and Inclusion officer on communication and regulation. Staff from St Mary’s Batlow will also be joining us for the twilight session.
Winter is definitely upon us – please make sure your child has many warm layers on and that all clothing is clearly marked.
Fees
With the change over to our new finance system it is important that all debts from a calendar year are cleared before the school year finishes. We are hoping that all outstanding school fees can be paid by Friday 8th December. We understand that school fees were not sent out as early as usual with the change to Tech 1, and some regular payments may need to be adjusted because of this. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Counsellor appointed
We are very excited that Catholic Care has appointed Mrs Lucinda Clay as St Joseph’s new school counsellor. Our families know Lucinda in her role as St Joseph’s Well being officer over the last four years. Lucinda has been Counselling for many years now in private practice and has also been working towards completing her Masters of Counselling. It is fantastic that Lucinda has the background knowledge of our school and community. Catholic Care are aware that we have not had a counsellor for some weeks now, so we will be given some extra days in Term 3. It is anticipated that Lucinda will commence in Term 3, and we know that she will be excellent in her new role. Lucinda will have a handover with Catholic Care and will continue to see students that our previous counsellor Jo was seeing. Please find attached the counsellor referral form if you wish your child to be referred to Lucinda.
Have a wonderful week.

Vinnies Winter Appeal
On Wednesday 28th June, St Joseph’s will be holding a ‘Winter Woollies Day’ to support the St Vincent De Paul Society’s fundraiser ‘Vinnies Winter Appeal’.
The Vinnies Winter Appeal is all about

Superheroes
After reading the book “Max”, about a boy who wants to be a superhero, K/1 had to consider what sort of superpowers they would like to have if they could be a superhero. They then did a fantastic job of painting their superhero. There were some Spidermen and a Spiderwoman and some other really creative superheroes such as Super Kitty who can turn invisible, Godzilla who uses his atomic breath to scare away bad monsters, Siren Head who uses his siren to warn people of danger, and Chainsaw Man who can save people with his chainsaw arms!
Maths
Last week in Maths, K/1 were looking at repeating patterns and worked really hard to make their own repeating patterns with a range of different objects.
Yoga
K/1 would like to thank Nicki for coming in and leading them in some breathing and yoga. They enjoy chatting with Nicki and are trying hard to listen carefully to Nicki’s instructions and hold their yoga poses.
Expression of Interest
Year 6 Leadership Pastoral Care Visits
Do you know of someone in the community who may benefit from our Year 6 Pastoral Care visits?
We are currently seeking expressions of interests from people in the Adelong community who may be willing to participate in our Year 6 Pastoral Care outreach visits.
If you know of someone who may benefit and are happy to receive a visit, we encourage you to speak with the person first.
Please ask if they are ok if you put their name forward and pass on their contact details to the school.
Once we have received details we will contact them to organise suitable days and times.
For more information, please contact either Mrs Beavan or Mrs Clay.
