Thank you to all the families who have volunteered to man our street stall this Friday or those planning to bake or donate goodies. A big thank you also to Jim and Nicki Pearce for generously donating the load of wood and to Lisa and Joe Carmody for donating the fruit and vegie box also to be raffled.
The date has been set for the St Joseph’s family golf day. If you know of anyone who may be interested in sponsoring a hole or who would like to come along for a great day out – please spread the word.
We look forward to our Book Week celebrations next week. The book fair will be set up all week and all are most welcome to attend. Our parade is on Thursday 22 August and will commence at 10 am. We are very excited to have the preschool join us and look forward to seeing some fabulous costumes.
It has been a busy week for Professional Learning for St Joseph’s staff – REC meeting in Young, Aboriginal contact day in Cootamundra and I am currently at Grenfell for the WR Principals meeting.

Reminder - The Premier's Reading Challenge closes on the 30th August so any students that are participating must have their books recorded online before then. Please see Mrs Dean if you have any questions.
Each week we will feature students who will share books they are enjoying reading.
Fred: "The Treasures of Fairytales" I have just started this book and I am reading Jack and the Beanstalk. I like reading the giant's part with expression "Fee, Fi, Fo, Fum" |
Faith: "Magic - Animal Friends" This story is about a bunny named Mia who lives in the snow and has a lot of adventures. Mia does ballet and wants to dance in the Winter Show. |
Ainslie: "The Kensington Replitarium by N.J. Gemmell" The book is about 4 kids who lived in the Australian Central Desert and they liked to aim their slingshots at the Police. Their dad went missing and they had to move to London to live with their Uncle... who hates kids!! This book was great 'hooking' chapter titles and descriptive words. |
Nate: "KidGlovz by Julie Hunt"
This book is about a boy who plays piano really well. His uncle takes him away to make him famous but doesn't look after him very well. The book has really good illustrations. |
