Our last newsletter for Term 3! A heartfelt thank you to all the staff and students for their hard work, dedication and all of the learning that has taken place over the last ten weeks. I hope that over the holiday period everyone takes the opportunity for some rest and relaxation, recharging the batteries ready for Term 4.
We are so proud of our smalls school relay team – Billy, Lily, Alice and Sam who ran yesterday at MacKillop athletics. It was so great to watch the event live with all your peers cheering you on here at school, and you represented St Joseph’s and the Archdiocese so well. A fantastic achievement.
Working bee
There was a fabulous crew that consisted of both parents and students last Friday for our working bee. Many hands make light work and it was so great to fill in the pot holes, pressure wash dirty footpaths and steps, paint the mailbox and gate, prune, weed, fill the sand pit and clean the basketball court. The new bbq was built and it was great to finish off a really productive afternoon with a sausage! Thank you so much to all of the wonderful families that came along and leant a hand, our grounds and school are looking fabulous.
We continue to keep Mrs Parker in our prayers. She is currently unwell in St Vincents hospital, Sydney and we are praying for her recovery.

School Mass
Thank you to the children and families who attended our School Mass on Sunday. Congratulations to Henry for altar serving for the first time! Also, thank you Lochie for guiding Henry. It was a lovely service and the children read and sang so beautifully - especially with the technical difficulties of the PA system! There are certainly special memories being created, we are truly very blessed.
Today we celebrated our last Mass for Term 3. Well done 4/5/6 students on presenting a wonderful Mass. We look forward to our next School Mass held Tuesday 17th October (Week 2) at 12.15pm. This will be presented by 2/3. All families and friends are most welcome to attend.
Save the Date!
St Joseph’s End of Year Mass and Awards will be held on Tuesday 5th December at 9:30am. Please note the location will be advised closer to the time.
Many thanks,
Stacey Braun
Religious Education Coordinator

In Writing, 2/3 have been working on creating a comic strip about a super hero. They have enjoyed learning about the structure of comics and how to convey the storyline through drawings and dialogue.
This week in Maths, we are revising the concepts learnt this term through a range of games and activities. 2/3 love playing card and board games in small groups that practise the skills learnt throughout the term.
Mary Quinane Western Region Choir Festival
On Tuesday 12th of September, 2/3 and some of 4/5/6 students went to West Wyalong to compete in the Mary Quinane Western Region Choir Festival. The songs that we sang were 'Tell the Good News' and 'My Country'. It was a tough competition, but we did our best and won. The next day we got a treat of hot chips for luch for winning. The schools that we competed against were Trinity Catholic Primary School - Murrumburrah, St Mary’s Primary School - Young and St Mary’s War Memorial School - West Wyalong.
Winning the Mary Quinane Western Region Choir Festival means that we will get to host the event here in Adelong next year!
A big thank you to Mrs Parker for all her efforts and to Miss Soulsby for coming to West Wyalong with us!
