It was fantastic to celebrate our Learning Showcase with our Grandparents and special visitors last Wednesday. The students were eager to show their learning and it was great to listen to them speak so proudly of all that they have achieved and their progress. K/1 then presented our Grandparents Mass, which was wonderful, and I am sure our Grandparents felt very loved. Fr Joe spoke of the important role that Granparent’s play in our childrens lives and the love between grandchildren and grandparents, and it was certainly very evident last week. A big thank you to our Grandparents, mums and dads and visitors for sharing lunch and a fabulous day with us.
Staff continued their Professional Learning in Literacy this week with a visit from CE Literacy Officer Gillian Forrester today. Gillian worked with K-2 teachers on implementing The writing revolution into their programs and presented a staff meeting to all staff.
The Remembrance Day service in Adelong on Saturday was small and intimate. A big thank you to Culley, Alice and Woody who participated in the service, read prayers and laid a wreath for St Joseph’s. It was great to have our students represent our school at this important community event.
Our second week of swimming is going well. The children have got their routines down pat and are loving their time in the water, especially in this warm weather. Thank you to Mrs Turnbull for running the swimming program.
Blessings for a great week.

Friday 17th November is National Agriculture day. National Agriculture Day is St Joseph’s chance to celebrate Australia’s incredible farm sector, which is a big part of the Adelong community. The Agriculture industry is a part of our lives every single day and we thought we would celebrate by cooking up some of the harvest that our 4/5/6 class have been growing. The children last term as part of their Science unit with Ms Saunders planted some vegies and have been enjoying their harvest this term of lettuce, carrots, turnips, kale, potatoes to name just some of the crop! We will also enjoy a sausage and some garlic bread.
There will be no cost involved for the day.
Children will need to bring in their own lunch on the day.

Sports shirt
Wendellies have now got the new sport shirts in stock however, they will be phased in over time so if your child’s sports shirt still fits them – there is no expectation to purchase the new one at this time.
If anyone is experiencing difficulty, please contact Mrs Beavan.
Kindergarten - Year 6 have swimming sessions on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The last session of swimming will be on Friday 1st December 2023.
Students need to remember to bring with them; their swimmers, rashie, towel, thongs, hat, sunscreen and goggles.
If they haven't done so already, can each student please bring a bag to school (shopping/calico bag or something similar) so that we can begin labelling them and starting to place all of their costume pieces in it. This way each students costume will be easily stored and accessible for our practices and performance.
4/5/6 also need to bring in their costumes ASAP please.
Thank You
Please see below information letters regarding upcoming sporting trials.
