Aloha!!! Welcome to Week 4. A big thank you to Mrs Murray for filling my role whilst I was away. Liz did a fabulous job and I know that all staff helped Liz in my absence which was great. It was so lovely to take some much needed time out with my family after finishing my study and just the general ‘busyness’ of life. Swimming up close and personal with green sea turtles and tropical fish and many other wonderful activities were certainly experiences that we will never forget. Hawaii is a beautiful spot in the world and we were so blessed to visit.
Tomorrow as you know is a Pupil Free day, and staff will be combining with St Mary’s Batlow and St Patrick’s Gundagai for our spirituality day.
Last night staff had a twilight meeting to write a new vision and mission for the school. It was a very productive meeting and this is the second twilight meeting we have focused on this so we are close to finishing.
The calendar for the remainder of the year is indeed to full, so please don’t forget to mark those important dates.
It is Remembrance Day on Monday and the school will participate in the RSL Remembrance day ceremony in the park commencing at 10.45 am.
Have a great week.
Kind Regards,
Kirsty Beavan

Dallas: "Land of Stories" - Book 1 Seamus recommended this book to me and I am finding it really interesting. These children get a book for their birthday and when they open it up they go to different lands. I really like it. |
Staff: 'Challenging Learning Through Dialogue' by James Nottingham
Staff continually engage in professional reading throughout the year. All staff have just finished reading 'Challenging Learning Through Dialogue' by James Nottingham. We are putting the pedagogical skills of dialogue feedback and questioning into our lessons. We are also developing these skills through specific tasks such as the 'Diamond Nine', 'Odd One Out' and 'Opinion Lines'. |
In Literacy K,1,2 have been learning about procedures. Today they enjoyed reading and following a procedure to make fruit salad. It was delicious!
The Primary class have been learning about multiplication and division this week in maths. Students are enjoying playing ‘Remainders Wanted’.
Staff Professional Development
Today Mrs Dean and Miss Braun are participating in a Data Analyst day. They are analysing data from our schools NAPLAN results as well as PAT maths and PAT reading.
The students have been practising the end of year play, they are doing a great job. We ask that you remind the children to practise their lines at home. We look forward to watching the play at the end of the year.
