Yay, we have made it to the end of the year!!!!! As I said at our end of year mass and awards presentation, it has been a busy year, but also a very productive one. A huge thank you for your continued support of our school and most importantly your child’s education.
Special mention to all my wonderful helpers last Thursday that moved the piano, shelves, bookshelves, books and TV’s and then put the shelves back together. It has really made a huge difference and we are now able to put everything where it should be ready for the next school year. Also to our wonderful parents who came in early to slice lettuce and tomatoes, buns, to cook the bbq, those that cooked yummy cakes and slices and then who stayed behind to help pack up and clean up, your help and generosity is much appreciated.
Next year for 2020 there will be three classes – a K/1 which will be taught by Miss Stacey Braun, a 2/3/4 which will be taught By Miss Jessica Soulsby, and a 5/6 which will be taught by Mrs Kerrie Dean. Mrs Liz Murray will continue to be the LNAP teacher and she will work in both the K/1 room and the 2/3/4 classroom. Mrs Leanne Turnbull will continue to be our Classroom Support Assistant, Mrs Catherine Anderson will continue as Learning Support Teacher and Mrs Michelle Crampton and Mrs Margaret Reynolds will hold their same hours. Mrs Catherine Parker will also continue in her part-time role. This week we are advertising for a school chaplain and another classroom support assistant.
Class requirements have been sent out and all of these items should be brought back to school when your child begins in 2020 – Wednesday 29th January Yr 1 – 6, Thursday 30 th January Kindergarten.
Kind Regards,
Kirsty Beavan

2020 Class Requirements List/BYOD
Last week, class requirements lists were sent out via email for 2020. Please find them following, if you have any queries please contact the school. Just click on the link to download.
Also the BYOD details for 2020 Years 2-6.
As a result of our new class structure for next year, the current Year One and Year Two students will need a device for 2020. The requirements that the school suggests are that the device has a good battery life, wireless wi-fi and the preference would be for a laptop or chrome book rather than a tablet. Somewhere in the middle price range – not cheap and nasty but not top of the line as there really is not a need to spend a lot of money. Windows 10 S machines can be troublesome, however it is suggested that Google chrome is the browser for your device.
If purchasing a laptop for your child is going to place financial pressure on the family, we ask that you contact Mrs Beavan to discuss. There will be chrome books available for students to use until such time a laptop can be purchased.
Please let me know if you have any queries about this, happy to help out.
In 2020 there will be a new structure to the fees.
Currently the fee structure is as follows:
CE Tuititon Fee |
Cleaning |
Maintenance |
Utility |
ICT |
Resource Fee |
The new fee structure in 2020 is as follows: |
|||
2020 | 1 child | 2 children | 3 children |
CE Tuition Fee per family | $320.00 | $320.00 | $320.00 |
School Resource Fee per family | $180.00 | $180.00 | $180.00 |
Student Resource Fee per student | $35.00 | $65.00 | $95.00 |
Fees per Term per Family | $535.00 | $565.00 | $595.00 |
CE Tuition Fee
School Resource Fee - combination of Cleaning, Maintenance, Utility, Student Resource Fee - combination of ICT Fee and Resource Fee
* in 2020 the CE tuition fee increases from $308.00 to $320.00
* in 2020 the school resource and student resource fee has increase of less than 3%

St Joseph's students enjoying a Reward Day at the Adelong Pool today, well done everyone you certainly deserved a reward after all your hardwork throughout the year. More photos on our facebook page.
An update from last week, details have changed:
Swans have had some difficulties with the supply of both our Summer Dress and Winter Tunic in the style that we currently have. Swans have found a replacement Summer dress which is the same material/pattern as our current dress, but is a slightly different design, having buttons at the front instead of the dark blue tie. The new dresses have been ordered and will be available for purchase in late January. Swans will also have one sample in store if you would like to see the dress and/or try it on for size. Students who have the old dress, or have a hand-me-down are still able to wear these.
The winter tunic will ultimately be the same material but most likely will be a slightly different style, and this will be finalised early next year. However, Swans do have quite a bit of stock in store of the current style of tunic and we encourage families to purchase these tunics if they have the size that you need.
Thank you to everyone for returning the note regarding the wearing of sunglasses in 2020.
A decision will be made during the holidays once we have looked at the results, we suggest the children still bring their sunglasses with them next year for the first week. If a decision is made during the holidays an email will go out to notify parents.
Thank you for your continued support.
Thank you to everyone for gathering costumes for our end of year play. Students will have a full dress rehearsal at the S&C Club tomorrow and will take their costumes home for the evening performance.
