Another beautiful week at St Joseph’s with glorious sunshine. We are coming to the end of term 3 and the children will be looking forward to a nice break in the holidays.
The current covid restrictions will be in place for the remainder of this term. It is expected that Term 4 will see new restrictions. I wish I knew what that may look like for schools, but at this stage I would not hazard a guess. Changes have been made to allow Yr 12 Graduations and events to happen, but at this stage there has not been talk about what that can look like for Yr 6 students and our end of year celebrations. We do need to be aware that our end of year events will look very different. We will hopefully have a clearer picture of this when Term 4 gets under way.
One thing that is certain is that there will be no end of year performance for St Joseph’s in 2020. With current restrictions it is not possible to mix classes, and we would normally be well under way with our preparations. Restrictions with participating in dance, and singing make it an even more complex challenge. It is very unclear if we would even be able to present a performance even if we remained in our classes to the whole of our school/parent community, so unfortunately this event will not take place this year.
Our Maggie Dent webinar is on next Wednesday and we are looking forward to this great event. A link will be sent to all families next week that will allow you to log in and join the webinar.
Have a great week.

A prayer from Pope Francis:
Prayer to Mary, Mother of the Church and Mother of our faith
Mary our Mother, help our faith!
Open our ears to hear God’s word and to recognise God's voice and call.
Awaken in us a desire to follow in God's footsteps, to go forth from our own land and to receive God's promise.
Help us to be touched by God's love, that we may touch God's in faith.
Help us to entrust ourselves fully to God and to believe in God's love, especially at times of trial, beneath the shadow of the cross, when our faith is called to mature.
Sow in our faith the joy of the Risen One.
Remind us that those who believe are never alone.
Teach us to see all things with the eyes of Jesus, that he may be light for our path. And may this light of faith always increase in us, until the dawn of that undying day which is Christ himself, your Son, our Lord!

2/3/4 are working towards implementing a Nude Food Challenge for the beginning of Term 4. This week and Week 10, we are collecting the plastic wrappers off everyone's food and will be weighing it to see how much waste we have been using in our lunch boxes. Early next term, we will be introducing to the other classes our aim to use less waste and "put our food in the nude."
Congratulations to our students who received awards in Week 8.
Media leaders Gypsy & Matilda interviewed the Student Spotlight this week, what will we learn about our student at St Joseph's.

Due to our working bee not been able to be held due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are asking parents to volunteer to do a job at a time that suits them. We have a list of jobs and it would be fantastic if families could pick a job from the list. We still have jobs that will need doing before the return to Term 4.
Other jobs on the list include:
* weed and tidy garden around tennis/basketball courts
* weed and tidy garden around the front of school
* clean out drain - side of school and remove covers
* remove weeds from tennis courts
During the holidays it would be great if our families could check the mowing/whipper snipping roster to see if you are on. It's always great for the grounds to be mowed in the holidays so it is freshly cut for the children to come back and play on the playground. Due to snake season, we also like to keep the grass cut and the whipper snipping done.
REMINDER: No Hat, No Play policy is in place all year round, a reminder that your child/ren need a hat for outside play.
If they don't have a hat they will need to sit under the tree.
REMINDER: Please send in a refillable drink bottle, due to COVID-19 restrictions children are unable to use the bubbler. However they can refill their drink bottle from the water tower.
