What a busy term it has been. A big thank you to all our students for the effort that they have put into not only their school work, but to all areas of school life - St Joseph’s students are always giving 100%. I say the same thing every term, a HUGE thank you to the dedicated staff who work tirelessly to ensure that they are meeting student needs and that they are providing the best possible teaching and learning for all students in their class.
It is really exciting that I have some wonderful news to share with our St Joseph’s community. Earlier in the week I received a letter from the Minister for Education stating:
The delegate of the Minister for Education under the Australian Education Act 2013 has approved an Australian Government Capital Grant of $1 121 119 to assist your school with the
- redevelopment of a rural school
- demolition of aged and dysfunctional facilities
- construction of administration and staff amenities, three general learning areas and an outdoor learning area.
This of course is fantastic news and we wait eagerly to find out further information about costings of the total project and contributions, which I do not have at this point.
I hope that all of the St Joseph’s families spend some time over the holidays to Rest, Relax and Re-charge.
We look forward to seeing you all back in Term 3 on Tuesday 13th July,
Kirsty Beavan
Principal
THANK YOU very much for your generosity to the Vinnies Winter Appeal. It was the perfect day for the children to be ‘rugged up’ in their colourful beanies, scarves and gloves to show their support for the St Vincent de Paul Society and the great work they do.
Our donations today will enable Vinnies to continue to provide support to people experiencing poverty, homelessness and disadvantage.
Warmth: Your donation can provide warm blankets, clothing, or a meal for someone experiencing homelessness.
Food on the table: Your donation can help remove the threat of hunger for a family by providing them with groceries for the week.
In Religion the students learn about ‘Social Justice and Mission’ and it was wonderful to be able to put this into action today.
In Kindergarten and Year One the children also wrote prayers of Thanksgiving, thanking God for their families, warm homes, clothing and food, especially during these winter months.
Thank you once again for your support. All the donated items will be gifted to the Tumut Vinnies store for distribution in our local communities.
Wishing all our families a very relaxing holiday.
