A great week with dance performances happening for every class. There have been some super dance moves and a big congratulations to Mrs Parker and students who have been learning and practising their dances throughout Term 2.
Reports will go home next week and parent teacher interviews will be held in Term 3.
For Kindergarten students:
- Achievement in each subject will be reported using a four-point scale (Well Above Expectations, Above Expectations, Meeting Expectations and Working Towards Expectations).
For Year 1 to Year 6 students:
- Academic grades for each subject using a five-point scale from A-E will be reported using the NSW Common Grade Scale.
For all students:
- Strand Achievement will be reported in English, Mathematics, Human Society and its Environment, PDHPE and Creative Arts using a five-point scale (Excellent, High, Sound, Basic, Elementary).
- Engagement with Learning statements, which are taken directly from the Australian Curriculum, will provide specific information about your child’s Critical and Creative Thinking, and Personal and Social Responsibility, using a three-point scale (Beginning, Developing, Consistently)
Currently, a new approach to Academic Reporting is developing. Further work will be undertaken in the coming months across the system to determine how progress and achievement are best reported based on what we know to be important information about a student’s learning and progress.
Conversations are an important part of the reporting progress. All parents are strongly encouraged to attend parent/teacher interviews to discuss their child’s progress and report.
Have a great week.
A very special night for Ainslie and Tom as they celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation with their families tonight.
Confirmation celebrates God’s presence in our lives as the Holy Spirit comes to guide, strengthen, and empower us to witness the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Confirmation completes Baptism, by which in the laying on of hands and the anointing with Chrism Oil, which first happened at Baptism, we are confirmed with the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
During Confirmation, the children will receive the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit: Wisdom, Understanding, Right Judgement, Courage, Knowledge, Reverence (Piety), Wonder and Awe and confirm their commitment to the promises their parents made on their behalf at their Baptism. Confirmation is the final Sacrament of Initiation into the Catholic Church.
We wish Ainslie and Tom a wonderful night as they receive this special Sacrament.
Vinnies Winter Appeal
Don’t forget to dress up in your scarves and beanies next Thursday 24th June as we support the St Vincent de Paul Society in their annual Winter Appeal.
We will be collecting donations of any winter clothing – new or in clean, used condition, blankets or non-perishable food items to give to those in need in our community. All donations will be given to the Tumut branch to distribute.
Students are asked to wear their school uniform as usual and pop on a beanie and / or scarf to support this great cause.

Last week our COMPASS Kiosk was installed for parents to sign students in and out of school. Any student who is dropped off after the bell rings needs to be signed in by a parent. This also applies for students who are departing the school early.
The Kiosk is very easy to use and staff are happy to assist if you have questions. After selecting drop off or pick up you will be prompted to search for the students name and select the student once their name appears. Select a reason for late arrival or early departure and select yourself as the parent.
Cars need to leave space to allow the buses access first, otherwise buses will not come into the grounds to pick up the children and they will wait at the bus stop.
We thank you for your co-operation.
Please ensure your child/ren have a warm school jumper or jacket with them at school, we are encouraging students to put their jumpers/jackets on when they are heading outdoors. If you could please make sure they also have their name on them.
In the past couple of weeks in Maths, the 4/5/6 class have been learning about length and how to work out perimeters and areas of different spaces. They have also been learning about chance and data and have learnt how to create graphs and explored the language of probability.
In literacy, the class were amazed to come to class one day and find that their chairs had quit! They then had to apply everything they had learnt about persuasive writing to convince their chairs to come back. Mrs Dean was very impressed with their writing and the chairs did come back the next day.
